Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of the website. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a query means that you accept them. If you disagree with any condition, stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with Mills County, the State of Texas, or any other government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or another Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) purpose. The resource helps visitors locate Mills County and Texas criminal-record channels. It is not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It does not keep official criminal records, retrieve a file, perform an official check, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its content identifies Mills County custodians, including the sheriff and court clerks, and Texas systems such as the Department of Public Safety and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Public access to government material remains subject to the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while Government Code Chapter 411 limits dissemination of official criminal-history information. Third-party tools may also be linked for research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Interfere with performance or prevent another person from using the pages
  • Use a bot, scraper, or other automated collection tool against the site
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted area
  • Use the information to stalk, threaten, or harass a person
  • Make a housing, hiring, lending, or insurance decision from site content
  • Violate federal, Texas, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information found here or through a linked tool to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also be criminal. Texas law and the registry’s warnings restrict misuse of Texas Public Sex Offender Registry information. Registry data serves community safety awareness, not vigilantism, workplace blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. The site and its advertising partners do not offer services designed to evaluate rental applications, job applicants, insurance risk, or creditworthiness. Information from the site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Set insurance premiums or assess creditworthiness
  • Screen a prospective renter or housing applicant
  • Make a hiring or firing decision
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government program
  • Serve any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

A check for a regulated purpose must come through an authorized, FCRA-compliant process, not this site.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Mills County charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to an individual situation. Consult a licensed Texas attorney for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are offered "as is." We make no guarantee that:

  • A partner search result will be accurate or complete
  • Pages contain no defect, error, or security vulnerability
  • The service will remain uninterrupted
  • Any fact is complete, correct, or current at a particular moment

A record can change when a charge is filed, reduced, dismissed, expunged, or restricted by nondisclosure. Gaps and delays are unavoidable. No site content is an official statement from the Mills County Sheriff, a court, Texas DPS, or another agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to county offices, courts, Texas agencies, legal resources, and independent search services. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their availability, content, fees, or handling of data. Review the destination’s terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Mills County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create another work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the site, including reliance on material found here or through an external service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions. A revision takes effect when the updated terms are posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be adjusted only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
